Dr. Shana Capra brings both local roots and international flavor to The Kids Dental Practice. Born and raised in Hollywood, FL, where she became aware of her passion for dentistry at an early age, Dr Capra obtained her D.D.S. from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She completed her post graduate residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, as Chief Resident. She trained and worked extensively at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Broward General Medical Center, The Early Childhood Institute at the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development, Caridad Center and other local clinics. She is committed to continually studying the newest and most innovative aspects of pediatric dentistry. 

 

Dr. Capra  is a passionate advocate for children in need, both as a dentist and as a member of her community.  She has participated in the Special Needs Olympics, annual dental mission trips to the Dominican Republic, and the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids a Smile Day.”  As founder of The Kids Dental Practice, she is dedicated to bringing the benefits of early monitoring, prevention, and continuity of care to the children of Delray Beach and its surrounding cities. 

 

Dr. Capra  is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, and American Academy of Laser Dentistry. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She is also a proud mother and wife who enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She strives to make her patients’ dental experiences as fun and unique as possible, and she encourages patients to participate actively in their oral health.
