Dr. Shana Capra brings both local roots and international flavor to The Kids Dental Practice. Born and raised in Hollywood, FL, where she became aware of her passion for dentistry at an early age, Dr Capra obtained her D.D.S. from Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She completed her post graduate residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, as Chief Resident. She trained and worked extensively at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Broward General Medical Center, The Early Childhood Institute at the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development, Caridad Center and other local clinics. Presently, she specializes in care for children with special needs, the use of oral conscious sedation, and dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. She is committed to continually studying the newest and most innovative aspects of pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Capra  is a passionate advocate for children in need, both as a dentist and as a member of her community.  She has participated in the Special Needs Olympics, annual dental mission trips to the Dominican Republic, and the American Dental Association’s “Give Kids a Smile Day.”  As co-founder of The Kids Dental Practice, she is dedicated to bringing the benefits of early monitoring, prevention, and continuity of care to the children of Delray Beach and its surrounding cities.

Dr. Capra  is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, and American Academy of Laser Dentistry. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She is also a proud mother and wife who enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She strives to make her patients’ dental experiences as fun and unique as possible, and she encourages patients to participate actively in their oral health. Dr. Capra is honored and looking forward to creating long lasting memories of your child and their dental home.

Dr. Shelly Levin is a dentist on a mission.  In 2008, as a member of the American Student Dental Association, she traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with members of Congress and discuss expanding access to dental services. Her subsequent volunteer work has included rebuilding homes in Israel and a mission trip to Chile to provide free dental treatment to underserved children in remote areas.  Dual-trained in pediatric dentistry and dental anesthesiology, Dr. Levin's current mission is to optimize dental care for the children of South Florida by emphasizing prevention, patient comfort, child-and-parent-centered environment, and skilled treatment across the full spectrum of pediatric dental needs.

Dr. Levin was born and raised on Long Island, New York, where she played piano and cello—first in school and then in local and university ensembles—and completed her D.D.S. degree at Stony Brook University.  Appointed Chief Resident in her final year of Pediatric residency at NYU Langone/Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, Dr. Levin followed up with a return to Stony Brook for residency in Dental Anesthesiology.  She has since achieved the honor of becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and American Academy of Laser Dentistry.

In 2016, Dr. Levin moved to Florida with her husband, Daniel, and their two sons, Jordan and Jackson. Prior to co-founding TKDP, she provided full mouth dental rehabilitation at Stony Brook University in New York. She is credentialed at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and West Boca Medical Center.  Her specialty is providing high-quality oral care to infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.  Her goal is to spread joy and foster self-esteem for children and their families by easing or preventing pain and by helping kids achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile!
